The river Abasha is a left tributary of the river Tekhura in the Abasha and Martvili municipalities. The length of the river is 66 km. It starts from the south slopes of the Askhi limestone massive and the riverhead is formed by the Rachkhitskali and Toba Rivers. The river Abasha creates beautiful canyons in the Martvili municipality, namely the Gachedili and Balda canyons. There is a dam built on the river Abasha called Abhesi, constructed in 1982. The river Abasha also has fish and is a good place for those who like fishing. There are the following fish species in the river: barbel, carp, catfish, trout, bullhead and others.
